Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my webpage! I am a fourth year graduate student in the Mathematics Department at Rice University. My home is in Salt Lake, Kolkata and I went to college at the wonderful SUNY Geneseo.
My research is primarily in knot theory and low-dimensional topology. I am working with the amazing Prof. Tim Cochran. I mostly think about 4-dimensional equivalence relations on knots, such as knot concordance. I've also spent some time thinking about satellite operators on knots and filtrations on knot concordance. More on such things under the "Research" tab.
I am also deeply interested in teaching. You'll find some information about my teaching experience under the "Teaching" tab. If you are a student seeking information about a course, try OwlSpace or shoot me an email.
Since I have so much free time, I am also currently the representative of the Rice Mathematics department to the Rice Graduate Student Association and the Webmaster for Indian Students at Rice. Previously at Rice I have been the Graduate Centennial Committee Co-ordinator and an Orientation Coordinator with the Graduate Student Association, both President and Publicity & Design Coordinator for Indian Students at Rice, a Resident Assistant at Rice Graduate Housing, and other such sundry means of distraction.
If you'd like to know more about me, I have been profiled on the SUNY Geneseo International Student Services Alumni page, and at the Wiess School of Natural Sciences Student Profiles page.
