Moduli of Curves from the Perspective of Rational Maps

Abstract: The moduli spaces of curves are central objects of interest in algebraic geometry. When studying their geometry, it is natural to ask what sorts of maps there are from these moduli spaces to other varieties. We will discuss current work on this question.
