(Joint with D. Gabai) Thanks to the work
of dozens of people over the last 40 years, a comprehensive picture of the geometry and
topology of hyperbolic 3-manifolds has now fully emerged. I will describe this picture,
and if time allows, will talk about one part
(Marden's Tameness Conjecture, now a theorem) in more detail.
