Midterm 1: Friday, Feb 1020%
Midterm 2: Wednesday, Apr 5     20%
Final Exam: Wednesday, May 10, 9am-12pm, SH 301      35%

Homework

Homeworks will be put up on this website (and OWL-Space) every Friday and are due the next Friday by 3pm. You must turn in your assignment to the Math 102 Section 3 inbox on the 2nd floor of Herman Brown (next to HB220). Homework solutions should be legible, and each problem should be worked out in detail with the final answer clearly indicated. Please staple your homework and write your name and the assignment on the front page. Late homework will not be accepted however, your lowest homework grade will be dropped.

Exams

There will be two in class midterm exams and one comprehensive final exam. All exams are closed-book and closed notes and are subject to the Rice University Honor Code. You will not be allowed to use a calculator on the exams. Please do not make your summer travel arrangements until after the final exam date is announced.

OWL-Space

OWL-Space (aka Sakai) is a is an open source software development effort to design, build and deploy a new Collaboration and Learning Environment (CLE) for higher education. Our class will be part of a pilot program to use Owl-Space to handle basic course management. OWL-Space will eventually replace WebCT which you may used in another course. I will post announcements, schedules, homeworks and other resources on OWL-Space. There is also a bulletin board and chat room where you can interact fellow classmates. You will also be able to see your current homework/exam grades. Both your login and password will initially be set to the name as your NETID login. For example, my NETID is shelly so if I were in the class, my login name and password would be shelly. Please change your password (click Modify under Accounts) after you log in. Unfortunately, you will not be added as a user until after I get the course roster.

Disability Support

Any student with a documented disability needing academic adjustments or accommodations is requested to speak with me during the first week of class. All discussions will remain confidential. Students with disabilities need to also contact Disability Support Services in the Ley Student Center.
